    Great video, Dean!

Couldn’t have imagined getting out onto the stage for just an “online” business (e.g. online product sales pitch), but now that I’ve decided to focus on the Local Business Internet Marketing niche, then speaking to groups of local businesses does not seem daunting at all, as I will have the passion & confidence in this area.

Would like to think that as the business gets established, I would like to pass the experience on to other aspiring Local Business Internet Marketers :-)

Like Clement’s idea of interviewing you one day!!

I know I could be totally awesome in business. I love what I do – up till 3 in the morning, and even then it’s hard to turn the computer off. I dream of buying a horse.

But I’m afraid to charge people a lot of money. I’m afraid to make information products that might ‘look dumb.’

It’s totally embarrassing. To be afraid of real money. Like, sending a proposal with a 4-digit cost estimate for a project. Or even going after that kind of work.

I’m ready to kick fear in the nuts. Life is too short to worry about offending people by re-defining what you’re worth…

I recently heard an incredibly wise person (Prescilla Shirer) say, (paraphrasing) “If I find myself afraid to do something, then I usually decide that it’s exactly what I need to be doing.”

Another one (from someone else I can’t recall): “Do the thing you fear, and the death of fear is certain.”

Thanks for a great reminder, Dean.

    Hi Dean,

Great stuff. How about creating a website where people will publicly announce their commitments, so they can be held to account by massive number of people? They would be required to deposit some money (a substantial amount), and if they cannot provide a proof of completing what they promised, the money would go to charity. Or sth like that.

    Cheers

In the past week I’ve faced many fears; I’ve ended a 4 year relationship, fired a client and done my first webinar.

And surprise surprise I’m still alive ;)

    Hi Dean,

Great video, totally agree with everything you said. An additional thing that has helped me a great deal around fear is to bring an empowering context to everything I do. What ive learned is that we typically bow to fear when we are too much in our own heads and in our concerns for being safe.

What’s really worked for me is to start living life from a context around the difference I can make in other peoples lives. Then when fear shows up, it has so much less power over me as I know I am playing a much bigger game that isn’t about me.

    Cheers
    Matt

    Awesome Post Dean.

I completely agree to your point about “money is where fear is” .
Its completely true. Napolean Hill, in his book wrote that opportunities always slide in from the backdoor and are almost unnoticed to everyone except the difference makers. To recognize them, one must fight his fears.

Brilliant post and definition of F.E.A.R! Keep em’ coming!
