Who Dares Take My Test?

I have a unique, one off opportunity for you, but I am looking only for certain types of people to come on board. So I have created a test, to see if you are worthy…

The Test

This is very simple, so don’t be nervous… I want you to look at the spinning lady below, simply decide if you think she is spinning clockwise or anti-clockwise.

Email me at: contact@deanhunt.com with your answer, and those of you with the right answer (yes, there is a right and wrong answer), will get access and more details on this opportunity, those of you who get it wrong will unfortunately be declined.

Note: Approx 50% of the population will see clockwise, the other half will see anti-clockwise. If you don’t believe me, ask some friends and you will see different answers.

If you get it right, I will be in contact with you personally over the next week or so, with all of the details. If you get it wrong, then I wish you all the best, and thanks for taking part.

Dean

PS: I am serious, there IS a wrong answer!

PPS: I have now re-opened the comments due to receiving too many emails.

  4. Comment from Doc Jakson on February 26th, 2008 :

    Clockwise…and then again..hmmmm..no…clockwise..

    Doc

  5. Comment from Chuck on February 26th, 2008 :

Sorry I can’t take my eyes off her voluptous breasts.
Since I am American she is spin counter clockwise.
    (Anti-clockwise.)

Or is she suspended in the air and the space moving around her?

Or are invisble killer bunnies spinning her like a top?

  6. Comment from Dean Hunt on February 26th, 2008 :

ok, I said I wouldn’t publish the comments, but thus far, I have had so many emails, I can’t keep up.

From the 100+ emails I have had, it is approx 60% clockwise, 20% anti-clockwise and 20% say both ways.

  7. Comment from Phil on February 26th, 2008 :

    Clockwise, dude.

    Namaste.

  8. Comment from Suleman on February 26th, 2008 :

Kind of confusing, but I’d say anti-clockwise judging it by looking at the shadow, it looks more like she’s spinning anti-clockwise. hope its correct =]

  9. Comment from Suleman on February 26th, 2008 :

oh and I’ve got an explanation aswell for that! ;)

  10. Comment from Dare on February 26th, 2008 :

    Clockwise, oh coure.

  11. Comment from MichaelZ on February 26th, 2008 :

Very cool. She appears to be spinning clockwise and then when I shift my eyes a little she appears to be spinning counter clockwise.

  12. Comment from Brandon Hopkins on February 26th, 2008 :

    Looks Clockwise to me!

  13. Comment from Harry on February 26th, 2008 :

    I see dead people…

I mean I see it go clockwise for a while, then anti-clockwise for a while. How screwed am I?

  14. Comment from David Maleney on February 26th, 2008 :

Well, if we have to give one answer, I would
have to say her pert breasts are rotating clockwise.

Can we see the version that isn’t blacked out?
I can be more scientific in my research, then ;-)

    I thank you.

  15. Comment from Ben on February 26th, 2008 :

    I see clockwise

  16. Comment from donald on February 26th, 2008 :

Hmm… I was staring at the picture for more than 5 mins..

During the initial minutes, i can only see her turning anti clockwise no matter how i look at it..

Suddenly i saw her turning clockwise and i thought i saw it wrongly..

So i continue looking at the lady, and i saw her went back to anti-clockwise again, after a while, it went clockwise again, then anti-clockwise..

my conclusion, she is turning rotating between 2 ways in my personal opinion…

i will be interested to hear what you have to say :)

  17. Comment from John on February 26th, 2008 :

Looks clockwise to me, but part of the time I saw it yesterday I also saw it spinning counter-clockwise. Thought maybe the animated gif included both, but I guess not (though I didn’t save and open it). I believe it really comes down to whether or not you are in your “right” mind or not.

But she better stop her silly spinning and run though… or those killer bunnies are gonna get her!

  18. Comment from Matthew Glover on February 26th, 2008 :

    It’s definitely clockwise.

And if I turn my laptop upside down - it’s also clockwise.

  19. Comment from Herb on February 26th, 2008 :

this well endowed silhouette is turning both clockwise and counter clockwise

  20. Comment from Luke on February 26th, 2008 :

It is a two-dimensional image that is simply shifting back and forth.

  21. Comment from Sean on February 27th, 2008 :

She’s spinning anti-clockwise. It can appear to be either way but there is a something subtle that makes her spin anti-clockwise.

  22. Comment from Phil on February 27th, 2008 :

The logic of the toe shadows means a light would have to be above and behind. Toe shadows only make sense in a clockwise motion. Her right foot shadow is illogical in the counter-clockwise position being equal to foreground left shadow. Equal toe shadow sweep makes sense in clockwise movement. Light source strong yet undefined creates confusion.

  23. Comment from Luciana on February 27th, 2008 :

The image is not spinning at all — I personally see the image spinning clockwise at first sight, but once I concentrate and “wish” to make it spin counter-clockwise, it works like magic! It can “spin” back and forth if you’re good at concentrating…

  24. Comment from Javender Andotra on February 27th, 2008 :

The Lady and her shadow is spinning in clock-wise direction.

  25. Comment from David on February 27th, 2008 :

I know this one from a few years ago so I wont spoil it for the masses.

For those only seeing it spin one direction, stare at her foot and then un focus a little… the foot is the key to switching the direction she spins in.

No it does not alternate, it is always spinning the same direction ;)

  26. Comment from perp on February 27th, 2008 :

this time, anti clockwise, in the past i have been able to make her go both ways…

  27. Comment from Tolkske on February 27th, 2008 :

First reaction: clockwise but with a little bit of concentration anti clockwise

  28. Comment from Raimi on February 27th, 2008 :

What happen to those who emailed you about this test Dean?

  29. Comment from Dean Hunt on February 27th, 2008 :

I will be updating this and replying to all the emails etc early next week.

Thanks for the comments and emails everyone.

    Dean

  30. Comment from Steven on February 27th, 2008 :

“She” isn’t spinning, in the same way that nothing is moving in a movie.

Put a couple of still images together with the right amount of time in between them and we’ll stitch them together into “movement.”

  31. Comment from Allen Taylor on February 27th, 2008 :

Yes, she is rotating both directions. She will spin clockwise for so many rotations then change and go back in the other direction.

Another way to look at this is, no matter which direction she is spinning she is rotating both clockwise and counterclockwise. If seen from the perspective of the viewer (me) then it’s one direction. If seen from her own perspective, the perspective of the clock, then it’s the opposite.

    My answer: Both directions.

  32. Comment from dare2baware on February 27th, 2008 :

‘She’ isn’t going clockwise or anti-clockwise. Otherwise she would be moving like the arms of a clock and be upside down at 6 o’clock.

  33. Comment from dare2baware on February 27th, 2008 :

Sorry about my last post, but you check out her legs, she swaps them over (from right to left)… therefore she is spinning clockwise AND anti-clockwise….is only takes a few seconds to spot ;-)

  34. Comment from Celso on February 27th, 2008 :

Clockwise, but I managed to force myself to see counter-clockwise which means she could indeed be spinning both ways.

Where do you find these things I wonder…

  35. Comment from Pete on February 27th, 2008 :

She’s a woman - she knows which way she is spinning, and that’s all that matters…

  36. Comment from Jonathan on February 28th, 2008 :

Hey I have seen this test before.

They say creative extraverts see it clockwise, and non-creative introverts see it anti-clockwise.

I want to be the lead ‘Alien Bunny’ role in Dean’s new Killer Bunny movie, for simultaneous release on 2000 screens, co-starring Keira Knightley.

I can see it clockwise of course.

    Jonathan

  37. Comment from Kate on February 28th, 2008 :

    Clockwise!
Then I close my eyes, imagine she is spinning counterclockwise and when I open my eyes I find that I made her turn around.

    Cóóóóól…

  38. Comment from sandy on February 28th, 2008 :

If I cover the top half of the picture, and look at lower part her legs, I see her turning 3/4 turn clockwise, and 3/4 turn anti-clockwise. But if I look at the upper body only, she is definitely turning clockwise. How could that be???

  39. Comment from Denise on February 28th, 2008 :

Very cool. I see both but I’m sure it’s an illusion.

  40. Comment from Teresa on February 28th, 2008 :

I see both ways also, it depends. My first impression was clockwise, then I leaned back in my chair and squinted my eyes a little, and realized it was actually counter clockwise now.

hmmmm I just wonder what the wrong answer is…..I am very curious to know.

Thanks for the challenge as always. You challenge our brains to keep us alert and I appreciate your style.

  41. Comment from mark on March 1st, 2008 :

I experienced similar to others..ten seconds clockwise, ten seconds anti

  42. Comment from simas on March 1st, 2008 :

clockwise. the way figure is balanced there is no way it could spin anti-clockwise, it would fall

  43. Comment from Zack on March 2nd, 2008 :

    Clockwise only. Zero anything else.

  44. Comment from Coper on March 2nd, 2008 :

Clockwise I don’t see how anyone could see her any other way

  45. Comment from Walt on March 4th, 2008 :

    Hey,

First it was going anti-clockwise, but when I looked away and took another look she was spinning clockwise.

    Weird.

  46. Comment from vixenbbw on March 7th, 2008 :

    A mixture of both.

I’ve seen this one before and saw it both ways then too.

I’m lefthanded and wonder whether that makes a difference to how I see it.

  47. Comment from Ellery on March 9th, 2008 :

I think I can help Dean. You said no matter how hard you try you can only see her moving clockwise.

At the end of this comment I’ll tell you how you can see her moving both ways. She is actually moving both ways depending on your perspective.

If you imagine looking at her from above her she is moving clockwise. If you envision looking at her from below her she is moving counter-clockwise.

At first I could only see her moving clockwise. However if you gaze at the foot of her vertical leg and then pan up to her calf and back down again repeatedly, you will start seeing her moving in the other direction. Remember I said gaze, not concentrate. You must relax and just let it happen and not try to force it.

Once you see her moving in the other direction a few times this way it becomes easy to switch back and forth.

Suspend your skepticism for a moment Dean and try it.

    Warmest regards,

    Ellery

  48. Comment from daryl on March 12th, 2008 :

sorry I is it my eye or what?, yes I see a lady, but she is certainly not spinning.

She might decide to spin later, but as it is now she is not spin…ning.

so neither clockwise or anti clockwise

  49. Comment from Amy Authbert on May 13th, 2008 :

I don’t understand how anyone can see her as spinning anti-clockwise! It’s clockwise right? It’s gotta be

  50. Comment from Amy Authbert on May 13th, 2008 :

Oh no wait she just went the other way…that’s a bit trippy now isn’t it!
