When Social Proof Meets Passion

Social proof is one of the most powerful factors in marketing… if you have never heard of social proof before, it is the reason you are drawn to a crowd, the reason you don’t like to go into an empty restaurant, and the reason you want the same gadgets as your friends.

I just stumbled across an incredible video that shows what happens when social proof and passion combine… as you can see, the results can be incredible:

    That’s awesome!

    I find it especially noteworthy to see the buildup. It takes a long time till the second person joins and still a long time till the third person joins. The fourth comes after a short while and then, before you know it, there’s a dancing crowd.

    You’re seeing exponential growth that is very typical for social proof effects.
