If You Don’t Ask You Don’t Get

This is the true story of how I was able to jump out of a plane despite being told only 24 hours earlier by the skydiving company that there was zero chance of us doing it.

    Dean – a great reminder!

It seems that as humans, we often think others should be able to read our minds…. by asking, we are reducing the need for others to do that.

    A better outcome all round!

    lol

Your Dad must have been more generous than mine Dean….

    My Dad’s favourite quote was:
“Them that asks don’t get, and them that don’t ask don’t want!”

Hence it was easier to steal the biscuits from the tin ;)

Yes – he actually did quote that whenever we asked for anything :(
    hehe

That said – it’s still always worth asking as you proved here.
Congrats on the jump – that’s another box ticked, Though I’m still in the camp of
“Why would anyone jump out of a perfectly good aircraft!”
In my flying days – we only used a parachute as ballast to weigh down the nose of our gliders!! Thankfully I never had to use it as the only instruction we ever got was to release the cockpit, jump and pull the cord! lol

Question – no video of the jump???

First, brilliant achievement, Dean, in making the jump … sounds like you’ll be doing it again!

Totally agree with “If you don’t ask, you don’t get” – interestingly, I have followed through three times with this action in the last couple of weeks, rather than taking no action & regretting it, & ended up with “getting it”!!

My wife is Chinese & will want to negotiate a discount wherever she goes … in Dubai it was normal, but in the UK it has been interesting to see reactions – she’s much better at it than me!!

A very good piece of advice. As they say, ask and you shall receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened.
