I target all of my posts to specific keywords for Google to like me, but it's the catchy phrases and gimmicks that drive viral content. I have had several instances where a power-stumbler on Stumble upon gave me a thumbs up and generated thousands of hits to a single post, but Digg and Twitter don't do much for me. I think it is important to evaluate your content and then pick a particular social media network to mingle in.
