Help Me Choose

Hi guys,

I have some exciting news that will send a chill down your knackers…

DeanHunt.com is going to have a new logo/header image. (i.e that red area at the top of the page)

I have 8 possible entries thus far to choose from, and I would like your help in deciding which one is best.

You can see all 8 logos here: New Logo Options

I would love your feedback, and I will give 30 points to whomever gives the best feedback*

Dean

Hmm… actually Dean - I didn’t love any of the 8 samples. 2 of them are the same except the tag line, so its really only 7 to choose from.

Out of those 7 - 4 are over cluttered. They have a lot of elements which doesn’t make for a good header design.

If I had to go with one, I would go with #7.

    Thanks guys.

To be honest, I like them all, but yes, I agree there is some cluttering going on.

    dean,

    love #1

the megaphone design is real catchy though…you can put it somewhere else on the page cos it gives a “shout out, be heard” kind of thing going on

I like no 7 and no 5. If I was forced at chocolate-point to choose one of the two, it would be no 5 for its simplicity, the killer bunny theme and the tag line. I prefer that to ‘Edgy, Creative & Unique Marketing Tech’ tag line as it’s obvious you are edgy, very creative, unique and a marketing wiz :-)

  6. Comment from Dean Hunt on April 28th, 2008 :

    Thanks.

For info: “Because everyone is entitled to my opinion” is the official tagline now, so that is what will be used from now on.

    Hey there, wb, me.

    I missed a design thing! D:

#7 is teh shiznit, but I would have wanted to participate. If I only knew… *hmmm*

    :D

    Marian,

There are still 24 hours if you are interested.

  9. Comment from Matthew on April 28th, 2008 :

    #7 definitely the best

  10. Comment from marian on April 28th, 2008 :

I’ll have a go, too, after work.

  11. Comment from Dave on April 28th, 2008 :

    I’d go with 7 personally.

  12. Comment from Jimmy Adames on April 28th, 2008 :

    Hey Dean.

    I like #7.

It captures the whole killer rabbit vibe:-)

  13. Comment from Alvin Yudistira on April 28th, 2008 :

#7 is the best I think message defined clear, #5 also good for banner.

  14. Comment from Dirk on April 28th, 2008 :

    Dean,

Loving the whole “crowd sourcing” thing your doing! I have to agree with the #5 and #7, but I like how “clean” #5 is.

    Best of luck!

  15. Comment from Sterling on April 28th, 2008 :

    #7 is great

  16. Comment from Robert Fowler on April 28th, 2008 :

Actually, don’t love any of them. But of the choices, #7 & #4. For those that do not know you #4 is a little ‘cleaner’. I know you are not too worried about being “safe”, lol, but here is my thinking. The tag line of #4 describes you. You ARE edgy and unique in your marketing thought and techniques, etc. If they have NOT followed you before the #7 may be a bit off putting. ie they don’t know what the bunny is about (or what a killer bunny is), and/or think the tag line arrogant.
So for someone finding your blog for the First time, may not get #7 while the rest of us think it is humorous.
    Make sense? :P

  17. Comment from Robert Fowler on April 28th, 2008 :

Addendum to previous post. I just read your brief for this contest AFTER I submitted my comment.
Quite frankly I do not think your goal is achieved yet…that being:

Remember, my blog focuses on being edgy, creative and different to the rest. I want people to see the logo/header and NEVER forget it. I want it burned into their minds ;-)

I would continue the contest few more days, as some more people become aware of this contest. And maybe up the reward a bit.

  18. Comment from Dean Hunt on April 28th, 2008 :

    Rob,

It is my first time using the site.

I didn’t know that I could extend the content?!? I paid $50 just to get the entry on there, plus the prize money on top of that…

I will look into it, thanks.

  19. Comment from Dean Hunt on April 28th, 2008 :

By the way, if any of you have ideas, tips, recommendations etc for a logo… let me know.

Things can always be changed, re-done etc.

  20. Comment from Michael Pearson on April 28th, 2008 :

    Dean,
I like the look of number eleven. It embodies your sense of humor and wackiness. Good luck!

  21. Comment from Thomas Gray on April 28th, 2008 :

Firstly deans, if you want a logo I would extremely highly reccomend garysimon.net.

I am currently revewing the 11 logo’s that I can see.

Logo #11 = Did you deisign this in Photoshop or paint? My God man are you being serious? The lettering looks like deans dog did it.

Logo #10 = Again with the god awefull background man. Do you have even the remotest ammount of taste?

Logo #9 = Why do you insist on having these truly dreadfull backgrounds? Did you scribble on a peice of paper with a crayon and scan it?

Logo #8 = Now this is OK. It still sucks. But you could say that it sucks slightly less. Apart from the black rabbit. Are you trying to be racially equal or something man?

Logo #7 = Now we are getting somewhere. Your rabbit looks like it’s got 2 cigarette buts in it’s mouth rather than teeth. But still you did ok.

Logo #6 = Seriously, did you just download a photoshop brush pack which had bee’s in it? Go home and suck on some teet. Your not quite mature enough to join us.

Logo #5 = Ok, so we are gradually getting better. Apart from that random tartan bit in the background. I’m ****ed if I know what you were thinking with that.

Logo #4 = So you basically changed the words?

Logo #3 = Why did you put a megaphone in there? Are you shouting about the fact that you really don’t know how to design a logo? Or more your understated man-hood.

Logo #2 = Whenever I look at this thing, I just think it says: “Deanhunt.com - My logo makes me look a dick”.

Logo #1 = What you have just done, is combined the two worst logo’s that you made. Into one sodden lump of horrible nasty goo.

Ok, so overall logo #7 should win it. Just because it’s the best at being bad.

    Tom

  22. Comment from Perry on April 28th, 2008 :

    #5 - Good, Clean, Fun

  23. Comment from Steven Gans on April 28th, 2008 :

  24. Comment from Anne on April 28th, 2008 :

    Hi Dean…..

My pick is #7. More polished than the rest and memorable!

  25. Comment from staypunk on April 28th, 2008 :

    hi Tom,
i’ve made my layouts with this
    http://www.clive.nl/images/24890.jpg

my dog would surely do it better but he did not join the contest cause he have not a paypal account

  26. Comment from Henry on April 28th, 2008 :

#12 is the best, if not that one #5

  27. Comment from Henry on April 28th, 2008 :

sorry I clicked enter but #12 is one of the best because its attractive, silly, funny, cool yet out of all of that professional. It really shows your style and the style of this blog. Its a very clean design I do not know the person at all, never even seen his work but it really caught my eye and visitors will also see it, and will most likely stay on the blog cause they like it, it is the most professional one there. Hope that helps out lol

  28. Comment from Bonnie on April 28th, 2008 :

I must not think the same way as everyone else. If these are the options, I prefer #12 over the others. Dean, you like to have fun with your work, and you like for some of your ideas to be subtle. This logo is having fun with the killer bunny concept, but you have to pay attention it to fully “get” how it works–a lot like some of your best marketing.

  29. Comment from Dean Hunt on April 29th, 2008 :

tons of new options to check out.

    :-)

  30. Comment from Robert on April 29th, 2008 :

I would definitely go with #7. That is the winner in my eyes.

  31. Comment from WeShine on April 29th, 2008 :

Thanks to all who liked #7 - I made some updates to it and the logo if anyone wants to check it out. #23 and #24

  32. Comment from marian on April 29th, 2008 :

Ah. Crap. I didn’t make it hope yesterday, got caught on the way back and spent the evening with my brother.

4.5 hrs is too little time, considering the fact that I now am at work. :|

  33. Comment from David Maleney on April 29th, 2008 :

    No 7 gets my vote…
…coz you is entitled to my opinion ;-)

  34. Comment from Veka on April 29th, 2008 :

    Vote for :

    #7
    #12
    #23

  35. Comment from Virpi on April 29th, 2008 :

No wonder #7 is getting most of the votes. It just looks professional enough. The bunny should definitely lose it’s horrible teeth, tho. (Are they teeth?)

  36. Comment from MouthyGirl on April 29th, 2008 :

I like #23 and #7 the best. They both have a great design and simple as well. Loving the bunny thing…

  37. Comment from Thomas Gray on April 29th, 2008 :

    Logo #30 is fucking brilliant.

    Logo #24 runner up
