From Dumb to Sitepoint in Two Weeks
In Buzz Marketing | 5 comments | permalink

Not long ago I published a “Dumb Quiz” on my blog. It was a huge success and catapulted me to number one in the Marketing category of StumbleUpon. It has since dropped out of the Marketing top 10, but you cannot keep a good viral story down, and the dumb quiz seems to have worked it’s magic once more…
This morning I checked my stats and noticed that I was getting a lot of visitors from Webmaster and SEO authority website Sitepoint.com
After a bit of digging I found that two of my blog posts had been mentioned in their official newsletter (130,000+ subscribers). WOW!
So what had interested the editors of Sitepoint so much that they mentioned me? Was it my charm? My wit? My white papers on buzz marketing? My heroic tales of life in Madrid?
No, it was the dumb quiz.
It seems there is no stopping the power of this dumb quiz, so why stop at Sitepoint? Let’s keep the ball rolling… if you are reading this, you can help make the dumbest blog post in the history of blogging spread all over the Internet. It will be our little practical joke.
Simply link to or publish the dumb quiz on your site/blog, or if you are a member of a forum, post it in the off-topic section.
Anyone who links to the quiz will be spared the wrath of the killer bunnies

Do You Feel the Buzz?
Dean Hunt puts the "buzz" in buzz marketing
..and the "viral" in viral diseases
Excellent job, Dean! Very talented ideas, as always. Republished Dumb Quiz to my blog (hope it’s alright).
Good job Dean! You definitely have a solid handle on the viral concept and how to exploit it!
But at least you’re an honest link whore. Since I think you might be able to teach my readers about this whole “Buzz Marketing” muck around stuff I gave you a nice little link.
Now you can just sit back and relax as my 130,000+ subscribers come pouring in as well…
Dean Hunt… the cold virus to the blogosphere!
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to blow my nose…
Keep Cooking! You’re an inspiration.
Andrew
Dean, you don’t stop impressing me!
