Dean’s Spanish Weekend Wine
In Life in Madrid | 8 comments | permalink
Hi all and welcome to a new weekend feature entitled “Dean’s Weekend Wine”.
“Wine?” I hear you cry.
Yes, and I will give you three reasons why I hope this becomes a permanent weekend blog feature:
1) Wine is tasty (Especially Spanish wine)
2) Wine is something I would like to learn more about
3) There are a lot of business and marketing lessons that can be learnt from the wine industry
Each weekend I will be tasting a different wine, and I will post my opinions on here. If you are a wine expert, then you can share your knowledge with us, if you are not a wine expert, then this is our chance to learn together.
This evening I will be trying the 2002 “Corte Real” from the Extremadura area of Spain.

Do You Feel the Buzz?
Dean Hunt puts the "buzz" in buzz marketing
..and the "viral" in viral diseases
Oh, go on then, you’ve twisted my arm, I suppose I can just about ring myself to try a bit of wine every now and again
haha, I knew you would come on-board Ben
That wine we had on Saturday was really weird actually, almost as weird as the 15 metre deep caves under the bar.
Weird in a good way though
Ben, I sent you an email with more info.
If anyone else wants to join in the group wine tasting each weekend, let me know.
Dean
Yeah I’m for this, but am I playing catch up already? It’s just that it’s Monday mornin and I have a lot to get through today.
What’s the first rule of wine club?
I am proposing an idea at the moment, so we haven’t officially gotten started yet.
As for rules:
1) All wines must be from Spain
2) On the first day of each month 4 wines will be chosen (with the help of some wine experts that have emailed me)
3) If you own a blog then you must post your opinions of the wine at least once per month
4) Enjoy
hey how about posting a video about you and your wine weekend?
Raimi - I was tempted, but that would destroy the “Who is Dean Hunt” illusion
I will consider it in the near future.

About two weeks ago I was away in Europe and I tried a spanish wine called ‘Esmeralda’…wish I could get it over here…
The Esmeralda wine is made by Torres, one of the biggest wine producers in Spain. I would be surprised if it was not available in every country in the world. It even makes its way down to Australia. It is made from a base of Moscatel and Gewurztraminer grapes, highly aromatic and refreshing.
Ask your bottle shope dude, they should be able to get some for you.
