Authority Site Exploiting In The Offline World
In General | 4 comments | permalink
This morning I joined a golf and country club in Cheshire (UK)… and the entrepreneur in me wanted to haggle and do a deal etc…
In the end I just paid my money and left quietly, but on the way home I had one of my wacky lightbulb moments…
What if I could use my online authority to exploit situations in the offline world?
Here is an example…
The golf club is called “Tytherington Club” and a quick google search shows that the website at number one is a PR3 website, whereas my blog is PR5.
Anyway, here is what I am thinking…
If I create a page on here all about Tytherington Golf and Country Club, and I ensure I use a lot of keywords and link back to it from the main page etc…Â there is every chance that I would be top 10, and with some effort, I may eventually even snatch a top 3 position.
Who knows, I may even outrank the club itself.
In an evil dictator kind of way, this could in theory give me some control and power over the club… as I could collect data from people looking to join.
I am afterall the net’s leading buzz marketer…
Warning: Thinking of Joining Tytherington Club? Read My Story First
Something like this, with an interesting story could generate leads.
Now, I must stress that I don’t plan on profiting or using this to genuinly gain any advantages in life, afterall, that would require blackmail… but if there is one thing I have learned in life, it does no harm to have control, and it always helps to have an Ace up your sleeve (just incase).
Who knows, I could create a page for every business in the area… literally, every chip shop, DIY store, Pub, and golf course… who knows what freebies I could get

I think we are going to see a repeat of a “website owner sues blogger” type post if you follow through with this Dean!
You already have ‘Joining Tytherington Club’.
Offline gold.
A dastardly plan. I love it!
hi dean:
I tried this method before.. well sort of.
You do the following in the webpage:-
1. Share positive experience, collect leads. oh of course, work out a deal with the golf club owner (or whoever concern) first.
2. tell negative experience, and promote better products/service( think affiliate marketing).
The sky’s limit.
