a Confession by Dean Hunt

I have a confession to make…
Over the past few months my writing style has become more salesy, direct, and dare I say… American.
A good friend contacted me the other day and said that he misses the older posts that were often funny, entertaining and from the heart.
So I thought about this and I believe I have found the culprit:
DeanHunt.com has been online for almost one year. What started out as a personal diary to keep track of my business and personal life, has grown into a site that between the months of December 06 and March 07 had over 500,000 UNIQUE visitors.
I have branched out into other areas as well: Copywriting, direct sales, niche marketing, social media promotion, viral marketing etc… and I have shared a beer with some of the Internets leading marketing experts.
It is hard to meet so many gurus without some of their techniques rubbing off on you, but a salesy blog was never my goal. I know the techniques for direct marketing, and I have had success with it. But I never planned on letting those techniques spill into my blog.
So from this day forth I will aim to make my weekly blog posts (every Sunday), and my weekly newsletter (Wednesday or Thursday) have a more personal and laid back tone.
I have never sold anything via this blog, so there is no need for me to use a more “salesy” method of writing.
If I know of something that I genuinly believe will be useful to you, then I will of course mention it, but there will be no sales copy or cheesy marketing techniques.
Instead I will continue to talk from the heart, and use my “wacky” sense of humour to hopefully keep you entertained.
If you have any suggestions or feedback then I would love to hear from you.
Thankyou
PS: My new house in Madrid is finally complete. It has been a long and painful road, but finally we are there. I look forward to inviting you all to a poolside BBQ later this summer. (I am serious)
PPS: I also look forward to hearing your feedback. I really mean that.
