amazing hard drive

Almost $2500 for a 15mb hard drive.

I suppose in 20 years time we will laugh at things like Blue-ray, actually, I think people are laughing at it already.

The funny thing is that while it’s funny to laugh at the prospects of baud modems being so ancient a majority of Australia’s population still uses dial-up Internet access.
Oh and ahh…. I’m sure to have a comparison drive here somewhere. The smallest I can find at the moment is a 2Gb drive but that was proberly from 1985 :D

    Jesse,

I did not know that about Australia. That sucks.

We ONLY just had our ADSL (Copper line based 256k) uncapped to 1.5Mb/s, I guess we’re a thirdworld country by internet standards. I guess I sympathize the 15Mb HDD lol

In 1990, I had to lace a capital equipment requisition for a new PC: a blazing fast 8MHz 286 with 512KB memory, upgraded to a whopping 640K for a cost of $999.00.

Oh, and it had a hard drive – 20MB…
The whole getup (including monitor) cost well over $5000.00

“a 2Gb drive but that was proberly from 1985″? More like, probably from 1995, if not even a couple of years later…

  6. Comment from Sam on :

Your right prices are just stupid

  7. Comment from Ben on :

Even I can’t believe the prices back in the days when I look at them know.
You can’t really invest in technology and be sure it will keep to date these days.
